On August 8th 2014 I had the great honor of photographing a beautiful couple on their wedding day. Emily is the daughter of a wonderful God serving family who attend the same church as my family. Both her mother and father sang in a choir at my wedding 17 years ago. It has been a privilege to know Emily's family. Her parents have not only been valued friends, but role models for how to raise my own children.
Emily and John-Patrick, you are truly a loving couple and I wish you both a lifetime of happiness. God has made an amazing union in the two of you. I look forward to watching your family grow and seeing you both create a God serving family the way your parents have. Thank you so much for allowing me to capture such an important day in your life! The day the two of you became one.
I would like to thank Joo Chung for being a second photographer at the wedding and Kathy Ricker from Kathleen Hertel Photography for assisting in photographing the ceremony and the before shots of the groom and groom's men.
My first holiday sessions took place in Fall of 2011. I held them at Swamp Fox Farm and Nixon Park in PA and Chapel Hill Farm in Perry Hall MD. 2011 was my portfolio building year and I am so thankful to all of those families who hired me for a very low fee to take their family holiday pictures. This year I did not get to hold as many holiday sessions due to a huge fall wedding season. However, for 2014 I have decided that Newborns, Children and Families are my focus... so be prepared, I have some great ideas to look forward to this year :)
I would like to showcase one of my trusty Fall Families. This family was one of my first during my portfolio building and have faithfully come back each year. Not only have I been able to become friends with them, but I adore their little ones and am truly enjoying watching them grow.
Here they are during my first year in 2011 at Chapel Hill Farm in Perry Hall MD
(hopefully by viewing these you can notice my growth as a photog)
The Next year they met me at Jerusalem Mills Historic Village for a quick mini session.
This year they came up to PA to one of my favorite locations Wallace Cross Mill
ARE THEY GORGEOUS OR WHAT??
Since I started three years ago I have met a lot of families and have enjoyed watching all of them grow. It isn't often that we take the time to get quality images of our entire family together. If you are like me, you might have many pictures of your kids, some with your husband and the kids and maybe one or two with you and your kids. Do you have one of all of you? Make sure that you fix that this year. Capture it before many more years past and the moments are gone!
Each time a family walks into the studio with a newborn baby I just start to relive in my mind the birth of both of my girls. I love reliving those memories, but during this session I couldn't reflect, I could only imagine... this time the session was for twin brothers. My husband is an identical twin. He has had his best friend beside him since before the day he was born. So during this session I kept thinking about what he was like when he was little. Watching two little boys run around the house, getting dirty, causing tons of mischief. Oh, I can imagine it may be exhausting, but what fun. This new mom and dad will get to watch their boys become best friends, it they aren't already. My husband and his brother besides looking alike they are both extremely musical. I love to listen to the two of them play guitar and sing... the harmony is perfect. The bond between the two of them is something that only other twins can understand. I wish this family the very best and am in awe of the exciting adventures these two little boys will share... welcome to the secret club little ones :)
During my first year as a professional Wedding Photographer I shot 10 weddings between March and December. It was such an amazing experience. I knew I loved going to weddings... mostly for cake, but now I love more then just the cake. I am so excited the day of a wedding! I can't wait to see the rings, the shoes, the first kiss and eat some cake! I want to document it all and crave that perfect shot. This year I have booked 12 weddings and already four more for 2014. Granted, I love photographing families, newborns, and children, but what a privilege to photograph the beginning of it all. To be there to document that first kiss as husband and wife and look forward to being there to document the rest as life moves forward. All I can say is I love this job and I love being a part of every client's story :)
